How can I become a member?

The Oklahoma Academy of Family Physicians (OAFP) is a state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). To become a member of the OAFP, you also become a member of the AAFP. Visit the AAFP website to sign up. You will then be added to our monthly newsletter list, quarterly magazine list, receive advocacy updates from our legislative team, and gain exclusive access to OAFP events and CME opportunities.

Do I have to be a physician to be a member?

No! You can be a current practicing family physician, retired family physician, a family medicine resident, or a current medical student. If you are a student, your membership is FREE! Become a member by visiting the AAFP website today.

Where can I listen to the OAFP podcast, Fast Talks with Family Docs?

The official OAFP podcast - Fast Talks with Family Docs - is hosted by two Oklahoma Family Physicians, Dr. Veer Vedala and Dr. Phil Palmer. A new episode is published bi-weekly featuring guests from all over the state practicing family medicine in all different capacities including tribal medicine, private practices, direct primary care, and more! You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or even watch on YouTube!

How can I register for upcoming events? When are they?

Visit the resources tab here on the website and select events. Here you will find upcoming events hosted by us as well as the AAFP or other family physicians in the state. You will be able to see dates and find the registration links or instructions on how to proceed.
