Mercy Health / Mercy Clinic
We are called to be Mercy

“We make a difference by touching the lives of those we serve with compassion and exceptional service.”
A distinguishing characteristic of Mercy Health Center is its emphasis on healthcare as a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, long known for their spirit of compassion and hospitality for all.

That ministry has grown out of the devotion of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, and displays itself in our heritage, our pastoral care services, our commitment as co-workers and our ministry in the community.

Our Mission:
Mercy Health Center is rooted in the mission of Jesus and the healing ministry of the church, being faithful to Catherine McAuley's service tradition.
This tradition is marked by the values of justice, excellence, stewardship and respect for the dignity of each person.

Mercy Health Center implements and advocates for innovative health and social services to improve the health and quality of life of communities served, with particular concern for people who are economically poor.

Oklahoma Heart Hospital Physicians
The Oklahoma Heart Hospital brings world-class medical expertise and compassion to the care of every patient.

Focused on your heart
At the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, you’ll find a place and a team dedicated exclusively to preventing and treating cardiovascular disease. Your heart is our primary concern.

Everything in one place
In a typical heart care setting, patients are routinely transported at least five times and with each move, their heart monitor is disengaged and then reattached. Not only are Oklahoma Heart Hospital patients rarely moved, they also benefit from a portable heart monitor that continuously tracks their blood pressure and heart rate.

The latest technology
The first all-digital hospital in the country saves valuable time for patients by making information readily available to doctors and nurses. X-rays, lab results, vital signs and medications are right at the caregivers’ fingertips.

Patient centered care
The Oklahoma Heart Hospital considers every facet of a heart patient’s care and hospital experience. And it shows in all the details—from the bed you sleep in to the personalized care you receive, from emergency care to the food we serve, every element of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital’s operations centers around you, the patient.

A place for life
Oklahoma has the highest death rate in the nation for heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. All the more reason to look to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. Ranked in the top 1 percent nationally for patient satisfaction, more than 1,100 heart surgeries were performed at the nation’s first all-digital hospital this past year. For patients, that kind of experience means better outcomes.

Saint Francis Health System
Visioning for the Future

For the past half century, the women and men of Saint Francis Health System have ably endeavored to service the healthcare needs of northeastern Oklahoma. And though their duties, actions and contributions have been as numerous as they have been varied, all have been linked by a common spirit of generosity and guided by a unified commitment to carrying forward Christ’s healing ministry. And it is a legacy of excellence that remains unwavering even today amid a backdrop of dramatic environmental change.

It was on March 23, 2010 the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law. Though the legislation is not likely to have a discernible impact on the way in which healthcare is delivered in the near term, over the long run healthcare reform will introduce a new delivery paradigm by way of coverage expansion and insurance market reform. Most importantly reform introduces— indeed demands—greater levels of clinical integration, greater focus on wellness and prevention and a fanatical commitment to quality. Despite the politics surrounding reform, as evidenced most recently by the November 2010 mid-term elections and recent federal court decisions, the prospect of such change compelled Saint Francis to evaluate how present structures and present practices must evolve under a new model of care delivery. These efforts were coordinated under the auspices of the system’s “Vision 2015” initiative.

Over the next several months, Saint Francis will evaluate new delivery models in collaboration with the Warren Clinic and CommunityCare Managed Healthcare Plans of Oklahoma. These new models will likely be structured to assure greater levels of patient engagement, greater use of disease-specific evidence-based medical protocols and greater reliance upon use of electronic medical records to assure patients receive care at the right time, by the right practitioner, in the right setting.

Saint Francis Health System has been blessed by its association with The William K. Warren Foundation over the past 50 years. And it has created a legacy that the system intends to honor and carry forward, despite the many shifts at play in today’s healthcare marketplace. Saint Francis looks to this new world of health delivery with confidence and optimism and remains committed to serving the community with compassion. In doing so, the mission of Saint Francis first articulated by William K. and Natalie Overall Warren will continue to serve as the foundation that has underpinned this organization’s success for the last half century.
